If you would like to attend but the current date doesn’t suit you, please let Sally know using the contact page above, as she will be organising another date this season.
Sally is keen to share some of her experience with new gardeners and gardeners who are perhaps a bit stuck with a tired garden. The main focus of the day’s masterclass will be on plants, trees, shrubs, hedges, perennials, bulbs, ornamental grasses and design. Sally will help you take a fresh look at your garden by introducing different plant selections and combinations.
Sally likes to use lots of layering in the garden to create changing seasonal interest, for example, early flowering bulbs coming up through early perennials, and as these are going dormant, mid-season bulbs, shrubs and perennials are followed by late-season flowers as Autumn colours take over.
You will learn how to increase your favourite plants so that you can plant en masse. We will discuss weeding, mulching, soil, and water availability in relation to plant selection and where you live. Sally will show you the best way to plant a pot full of bulbs for the Spring and how best to plant flowery pots for the season.
You will go home with the bits and pieces you will need to experiment at home - pots, a cell tray, seed packets, labels and chinagraph pencils. There will also be a selection of interesting plants from the nursery available for sale on the day.
